Concerns I can help with
My Story
I watched the movie Split and got very intrigued and scared at the same time. So I started reading about schizophrenia. This slowly led me to read about other aspects of psychology and the more I read, especially the importance of a counselor or therapist in one's life, the more I became sure this is what I wanted to do. So I dived into the pathway to becoming a psychologist right from class 11, where I first officially got to study psychology. And even though the first attraction towards it was knowing about a disorder, I understood at that early stage itself that it's so so much more than that. Everyone needs help sometimes, and when I am able to be the bridge between someone trying to do better and them achieving that, that is the biggest motivation I have.
2 things - one is very cliched - that I get to help people. And the second, the human mind - which works in such unexpected, unpredictable ways. It is fascinating how no two individuals are ever the same, and hence no single solution to all problems. Every day is challenging, yet satisfying in different ways.
I follow a client centric approach, where the client gets to set their own goals, and move towards it at a pace they are comfortable with. Sessions are client driven. I also follow an eclectic approach, using modalities based on the client's real-time needs.
